Oh hey lovely!
I'm Melissa and I'm a lover of telling stories and taking photos.
My journey to photography has been a long term love affair with all things visual art. I grew up around photography, in fact my Dad was a wedding photographer and when I was 11 years old I followed him to my first wedding and as I played the very important role of 'bag carrier' I fell deeply in love with all things weddings. From then I was hooked, hooked on photography, hooked on hanging out with people in love and hooked on spending each weekend at the biggest day of people's lives (what a job right?!). I have always loved every facet of visual arts, with painting being my other love. I'm currently studying graphic design which I adore and is just another way I like to express the arty farty nerd in me.
When I was the ripe old age of 16 I launched my business, so desperate to spend every chance I got taking photos of happy people. I started out shooting just events and dragging my friends and family out to shoot whenever I could. After a few years of events and other photo bits and bobs my dream came true, I booked my first wedding! Since then I have spent a good chunk of my time with beautiful people telling their love stories and I couldn't be more stoked about it.
This is my Connor and he's an absolute star. After meeting through a shared love of all things photography we became high school sweethearts and he's been my best mate and greatest asset ever since. These days he shoots alongside me taking the most beautiful pics you've ever seen and will always spin a quality yarn with the blokes. He's a champion photographer but more than that he is the glue that holds this whole operation together. You can bet that he will be there to grab every tear, every giggle and every moment with photos you'll hold onto for the rest of your life.
Lover of all things creative and the ultimate jack of all trades, my beautiful friend Meg has come onto the team this year and just blown everyones socks off every time we've worked a job. Her love of photography started with film and developed as she started in digital photography through her training to become a graphic designer. With creativity and skill to boot she's a bit of a golden girl. She's full of laughs and just genuinely brings so much to MGP. We're lucky to have her and so are all of the clients that bring us on board. Just know she'll leave you wishing she was your best mate.
I'm a coffee lover and always down for a chat so if you think that what we've got is what you're looking for, flick me an email and we'll catch up!
